Invitation to Victorians .....

As most of you know, this weekend Sunday, June 15 the 19th Friendshipment Caravan to Cuba will begin its journey across North America to break the cruel, unjust, illegal US blockade against Cuba.

People from Portland, Seattle, Bellingham, Vancouver and Victoria will be coming together at the Can/US border crossing at the Peace Arch in Blaine. There will be speakers, live music and food that we all bring to share with each other. Once our program is concluded at the Peace Arch Park, we will take our aid across the border and break the US blockade once again.

We would like to invite all our friends and supporters to join us. This is where we can do our small part in the struggle for justice. Your presence is much needed at this event to show your opposition to the immoral US policies.

We will leave on the 9:00 am ferry on Sunday, June 15 to arrive at the Peace Arch for 12 noon. If you would like to join us and reserve a seat in one of our vehicles, please let us know. If people can't afford the ferry expense, Goods for Cuba will cover the cost of up to twenty people. It will be honoured on a first come first serve basis. So please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to join us and if you need your expense for the ferry ride paid for. If you are accompanying the caravan at the border, you will not need a passport or any kind of ID. The Peace Arch Park spans the border so it's possible to go from the Canadian Parking lot to the US parking lot without ID. Only the drivers of the vehicles with the aid and the caravanistas will need ID.

This is an important event where we need as many people as possible.

In solidarity,
Randy
